This was an article I had worked on right before my promotion to Narragansett Reporter for the Independent. Years later, it's one of my favorite articles.
"Off Route 108 in Narragansett, down Indian Rock Farm Road, lies a hidden paradise.
Overlooking Salt Pond, with Great Island and Ram Island in sight, is 75 Kenyon Farms Road, a small seasonal cottage that dates to the early 1900s. The property is owned by Raymond Kagels (who is running for Narragansett Town Council) but for five generations – since 1953 – the Montgomery, Hull and Kiley families have returned here to vacation.
They have been here so long, Kagels said everyone refers to the house as the 'Montgomery cottage.'"
